Miriam's Chicken soup on Friday night. The light in a child’s eyes when she reads her first Hebrew word. A helping hand in times of need. Chabad is a home away from home for every Jew in Berkeley. We are dedicated to serving our community - and now we’re asking for your support to help us build a bright Jewish future, together.
Running an operation like Chabad of Berkeley requires a major investment of time, energy, and capital. While Rabbi Yehuda and Miriam Ferris work tirelessly to ensure that no Jew is left behind, the day-to-day expenses of operating a Chabad center can be daunting. Rather than charging membership fees or exorbitant event prices, which could alienate some people, we rely on the generosity of the community that we serve. Paying off the mortgage, offering Winter and Summer Gan Israel Day Camps, Fun Zone, Jewish Lending Library, Torah Classes, Prison Oureach, and starting an after- school program need lots of fuel!
To that end, a number of generous donors have come forward with a proposal to help Chabad thrive this year. They will donate $75,000 to our center, provided that it is matched by an equal donation from our you, our community. Until December 31st only, your dollar will have double the impact!
You can be a partner in everything we do to benefit the residents of Berkeley by contributing to our campaign this week, and by spreading the word. Maimonides says that every good deed, no matter how small, tips the scale of humanity toward goodness.
Today you have the opportunity to see the impact of that deed multiplied many times over.
Join us by making a donation today!
We accept on-line donations, checks, Zelle, and PayPal.
Happy Chanukah, and see you on Fourth Street Thursday night for the Menorah Lighting and Hakhel Concert!
Much Love and Blessings,
Rabbi Yehuda and Miriam Ferris
